Meet Jamie
Jamie served as Minority Leader in the South Dakota House of Representatives for four years, where he delivered bipartisan solutions for the people of South Dakota. Jamie believes we are strongest when we work together to get things done.
A realtor, former educator, and lifelong resident of District 15, Jamie understands the needs of all South Dakotans. Every day, Jamie rolls up his sleeves to bring people together on the big issues South Dakotans face: affordable housing, high-quality education and healthcare, and an economy that works for everyone.
Jamie is a devoted father and husband. His wife of 26 years, Kjerstin, is a middle school librarian. He’s the proud father of two sons: Johnathan and Isaac.

An Economy for You
Jamie believes in an economy that works for everybody. He will work hard to ensure a great environment for South Dakota businesses, fair wages and protections for workers, and investments in innovation and workforce development to create good-paying jobs in South Dakota.
Education
Jamie is a strong supporter of education. He is focused on improving teacher pay and ensuring local control for South Dakota schools. As a former teacher and wrestling coach, Jamie still finds his way into a classroom to support South Dakota students. His support for public education never wavers.
Integrity
During his time in the South Dakota Legislature, Jamie has been a watchdog: protecting public dollars, keeping public officials honest, and promoting transparency. Every day, Jamie will show up in Pierre making sure our tax dollars are being put to good use.
